CO2 Laser

CO2 Laser

Precisely removing small moles and skin surface lesions.

About Procedure

About CO2 Laser

The CO2 laser is a 10,600nm carbon dioxide laser, an ablative laser that is absorbed by water in the skin and vaporizes tissue.

Because it can precisely remove only the targeted area, it is mainly used to remove lesions near the skin surface such as small moles, milia, flat warts, skin tags, and sebaceous hyperplasia.

Sia Clinic Daejeon first identifies the type and depth of each lesion through examination, then designs the removal range, depth, and regenerative care such as hydrocolloid dressings (DuoDERM) for each individual.

Who Needs It

Recommended For

  • Those who want to remove small moles on the face or body

  • Those with white milia around the eyes

  • Those who have developed skin tags on the neck or underarms

  • Those who have developed multiple flat warts

  • Those bothered by small bumps on the skin surface

  • Those who want to remove several lesions at once

Treatment Time
Approx. 10-30 minutes (varies by number of lesions; numbing time not included)
Treatment Interval
Usually 1 session; deep lesions re-evaluated after 4 weeks
Recovery
Scabs for about 5-10 days; redness for several weeks
Process

How It Works

STEP01

Examination & Lesion Identification — We check the type, number, and depth of lesions

STEP02

Cleansing & Anesthesia — After cleansing, numbing cream or local anesthesia is applied

STEP03

CO2 Laser Removal — Only the lesion area is precisely vaporized and removed

STEP04

Regenerative Care — If needed, a moist dressing such as a hydrocolloid patch is applied

STEP05

Home Care Guidance — We explain how to change dressings and protect against the sun

Precautions

Before & After Care

Please review the following for the best results.

Protect the treated area with a dressing such as a hydrocolloid patch (DuoDERM) for the period instructed

Do not pick scabs; let them fall off naturally

New skin may show redness or hyperpigmentation, so sun protection is important

Deep moles may recur or require additional treatment

Avoid saunas, swimming pools, and excessive friction until scabs fall off

Moles with an irregular shape or recent changes in size or color will be examined before treatment

FAQ

FAQ

Q.  Will mole removal leave a scar?
Lesions are removed according to their depth and followed by regenerative care, but deep moles may leave a depression or hyperpigmentation. The course of recovery may vary from person to person.
Q.  Can everything be removed in one session?
Most superficial lesions are removed in one session, but deep moles may be treated in stages to reduce scarring, or additional treatment may be needed if they recur.
Q.  How long should I keep the hydrocolloid dressing on?
It depends on lesion depth and location, and usually several days to about a week is recommended. The exact period will be explained after treatment.
Q.  How is it different from LOTUS III?
Both are ablative lasers, but CO2 has a stronger thermal effect and is mainly used to vaporize and remove lesions, while LOTUS III (Er:YAG) is mainly used for shallow, precise skin texture and scar care.
