IPL

IPL

Refining blemishes and redness together with broad-spectrum light.

About Procedure

About IPL

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a light therapy that applies light with a broad range of wavelengths, adjusted with filters, rather than a single wavelength like a laser, and is used to address epidermal pigment such as freckles and blemishes together with redness.

Sia Clinic Daejeon uses Cellec IPL, which can treat large areas relatively quickly, making it well suited to refining blemishes scattered across the face and a dull tone at once. After treatment, pigment temporarily darkens and then flakes off like thin scabs.

Sia Clinic Daejeon checks the type of pigment, skin tone, and any recent sun exposure, then designs the filter, energy, and number of sessions for each individual.

FAQ

FAQ

Q.  How is IPL different from a laser?
While a laser uses a single wavelength, IPL uses light with a broad range of wavelengths adjusted with filters. This is why it is used to address blemishes and redness together.
Q.  My blemishes got darker after treatment.
It is common for pigment to temporarily darken after IPL and then flake off like thin scabs. They usually fall off within about a week, and it is important not to pick them. The course may vary from person to person.
Q.  Does it work for melasma?
Melasma can react sensitively to stimulation, so it is often managed mainly with toning rather than IPL. We identify the type of pigment through examination and then recommend the appropriate treatment.
Q.  Is it painful?
You may feel a brief warm or stinging sensation, and in most cases it is performed without numbing. The level of sensation may vary from person to person.
